Du er ikke så langt unna, Garzanti gir denne definisjonen:

Med andre ord: den enkeltes betraktningsmåte.
For de spesielt interesserte tar jeg like godt med Zingarellis
definisjon, som nok peker i samme retning, men ikke er like klar:
«Abito o struttura mentale di una persona, costituita dal complesso
degli elementi caratteriali individuali e dalle acquisizioni ideologiche
proprie di ogni individuo e strettamente connessa col suo grado di
cultura, l’educazione che ha ricevuto, il gruppo sociale cui appartiene
