Nytt problem i Klein: «No Logo».
«For instance, the Gap [en kjede med klesbutikker] has a system of keeping
clerks ‘on call’ for certain shifts during which time they aren’t scheduled
or paid to work but must be available to come in if the manager calls. (One
worker joked to me that she had to buy a beeper in case a folding crisis
flared up in Gap Kids.)»
Problemet er «a folding crisis». Betydningen er klar — en amerikansk venn
har sendt meg følgende forklaring:
>this joking reference refers to «folding» in
>the sense of folding clothes. If a bunch of people came in the store at the
>same time and tried on lots of clothes, then left them out for the workers
>to fold and replace on the shelves, such a «crisis» might occur.
…men hvordan si dette på norsk uten å bruke altfor mange ord? Jeg har en
følelse av at «brettekrise» blir for snaut og lite forståelig.
Noen forslag?
